Booking Frenzy-- What is it?
I recently learned what a “booking frenzy” is through another VIPKID teacher. I’ve only been teaching for 3 months now, and I’ve seen lots of other teachers post about their booking frenzy success. I wasn’t sure what they all meant, so I did a bit of research and asked a few fellow teachers and came to a clearer understanding of what a booking frenzy is.
So… what is a booking frenzy??
A booking frenzy happens while we sleep on Sunday night. It is China’s Monday morning and the VIPKID students’ parents have access to the teachers’ schedules for the next week. Once they have access to those schedules, they look at the teacher profiles and select their child’s schedule for the next week.
So, for example, while we slept on Sunday, February 24, parents had access to our schedules for the week of March 4. So, you wake up on Monday morning to… hopefully… lots of booked slots— bookings for the next week.
One way to make sure you get booked during a booking frenzy is to have several weeks open in your schedule. I try my best to keep a consistent schedule. That way, parents know what to expect from me and they also have the ability to book you consistently. I would encourage and recommend to try to keep your schedule as consistent as possible and to open up as much as an entire month at a time. This will give you more possibilities of parents booking you several times throughout a few weeks’ time.
